New Primordial, Revel In Flesh and W.E.T. are probably the best things i have heard in the last month. New Ministry sucks. Saxon and Visigoth are very good.

Haven't heard the Visigoth, but the new SAXON is great, not as catchy as Priest but damn close...
Andy Sneap really put his stamp on some great releases lately!  smoking

Hey Protag  devilbang devilbang devilbang devilbang

I too rarely go to shows these days - just too expensive and too time consuming. If somehow things work out or if it's Maiden I'll go, otherwise I feel like I've seen most of what I want to see.

Still buying music though, trying to check out something new each month.

To be honest I don't even know of club venues that feature metal acts. Everytime I check The Filmores schedule they have more hip-hop/rap than metal.  Never thought I'd miss Jaxx.

I miss Jaxx so much.  Sure it was a hellhole for the most part but I could get to shows mid-week without having to drive to fucking Baltimore or Silver Spring.

I recently went to Anthem to see Priest and it's a great venue but really really huge.  Almost an arena substitute.

The Fillmore in SS is nice whenever they do book metal but I haven't been there in a few years.

Lots of stuff just goes to Baltimore which, unless it's on a weekend, is an automatic skip for me.

Yeah, it sucks.  Shows for me these days are big event kind of things - time off work, hotels if needed, etc.  So aside from Maiden (who I saw 5 times last year in 3 countries) I rarely bother.

I still go to shows, but I have slowed down too. Getting home at 1AM (if I'm lucky, usually more like 2), it takes me a good hour to be able to sleep, then I get up at 6AM for work.

Occasionally troll here, although I've never been much of a post person. Good to see "some activity" although some of these topics are sooooo old. I suppose new topics need to rise in order to push the old stuff out.

I got caught up in reading so many of those old posts -- I really miss this place and hope it can survive in some capacity moving forward.

Totally rocked my MM shirt while out this weekend.  devilbang
