That sucks Mosh, hopefully it gets taken care of at your place soon.
If I could get cable or DSL, I'd do it,,,,,
Do you live out in the sticks or something?  hehehe.
Not really,,,,,but the fiber optic cable network ends just over a mile from my house, I get only the "old style" analog cable delivered over coaxial cable,,,,,no digital cable for me and thus no cable modem service.

As for DSL, I'm just past the distance cutoff from the nearest switch.

So basically without a sattelite, come February you'll be without any channels due to the digital switch.  That blows.

what are they going to do when the cable service mandates get switched to from analog to digital next February?
You're confused,,,,,it's broadcast TV that must switch to digital.  My cable company will still capture those signals and put them on my cable for me,,,,,I just won't get the HD version of it as it will be downgraded for analog delivery,,,,,

You might wanna look into that.  From what I heard, all analog signals will be shut off come February.

All broadcast analog signals will be shut off,,,,,
