are there a bunch of MM members going to this?

It may well be the only show I go to this year.

Hey eaeolian, Iris Divine is local right? Have they been together long?

I need to get in here more often. lol

They're fairly recent - it's the drummer and singer/guitarist from Encompass with a killer bassist and another guitarist/vocalist. They're an excellent band that somehow manage to be prog metal without being sleep-inducing, mainly because they write good hooks and know how to ride a groove.

Encompass I liked a lot! This is shaping up to be the rare show where the only time I won't be in the hall is between bands.

Just went to Jaxx's website & this show is no longer listed. Does anyone know what happened?

Don't know-- but on the ProgPower site there is now an announcement saying the PP show is Fates Warning's only 2009 show.

I looked on their website & it said that they were going to do a few warmup shows prior to their PP appearance & though the site doesn't say anything about the shows being cancelled I guess that either the band decided they didn't need the practice in an actual show setting or the powers that be at PP asked them to make their fest show an exclusive.

Actually, neither, Protag. It was strictly a financial thing, from what I've been able to find out.
