I myself don't own any musical equipment that's particularly valuable.

I do have a friend who owns 2 Stratocaster guitars that are all original, very old, and in perfect condition.  He tells me they are worth thousands of dollars each.

He actually inherited one of them from a friend of his who died about 5 years ago.

Nope, just sentimental value.

I used to own a fairly valuable picollo trumpet but I sold it 2 years ago.

It harkens back to the days when I was a semi-pro trumpet player and it also had some sentimental value.  That's why I held on to it as long as I did.  But, it paid for a little more than half of my bathroom remodeling project.

I'd say so.  I mean, we're not talking collector's items or anything, but the shit I have was expensive.

USA Jackson Rhoads - the bastard was not cheap

My Paiste cymbals - easily the most I've ever spent on an instrument purchase at one time.  Around $4,000.

Well, my Warwick was pretty friggin expensive, something like $1300-1400.

I also own a late 70's era Selmer Mk VII alto saxophone.  I paid about $1700 for it about 12 years ago.  No idea what it's value would be now, probably about the same.

Most of my gear wasn't cheap, but the most expensive to replace would by my Jackson Custom Soloist 7 - at current rates, it would be somewhere between $3.5K and 4K. I did *not* pay that much for it, but it still wasn't cheap.
