I really like the album but Frank Banali can be a  little overbearing on this and Headless.  Some people absolutely love his performance but it's my only complaint.  The album and concept are typical Blackie, completely self-indulgent, self important but here surprisingly heartfelt.  Definitely a classic album and a great choice for a thread!  Every song is excellent.

Funny thing is, I never consider W.A.S.P. one of my favorite bands but I find everything from the debut through this album to be perfect, save Electric Circus, which, I'm ashamed to say, I don't own.

That's pretty much where I'm at with WASP as well.  Loved the first album but the second one was too commercial sounding for me.
Never really gave them much of a listen after that.

There was so much hype about W.A.S.P. prior to the release of the Fuck Like A Beast ep, like they were supposed to be the heaviest and most dangerous band on earth, that when I fist heard the ep I was underwhelmed to say the least!  sick
I always thought they sounded like a heavier Quiet Riot with some KISS gimmicky appeal, mostly unfulfilled hype, although the first album has a few good tracks on it, but overall it's not that exciting... it didn't help that the band looks like a bunch of ugly trannies  lol

This album totally sucks!  jester

In all honesty, I listened to it so many times way back when that I wore it out.  I don't think I've spun it in a few years now.  It had an enormous impact on me though, obviously.  I think it ranks right up there with Mindcrime, and Dreaming Neon Black as one of the greatest concept albums of my life.

Favorite track is probably great misconceptions.

Also, don't blame Banali, If I remember correctly, there are two drummers on this album (and SNBE too) and they play at the same time.  That was one of the things that blew me away about this record, it was totally new to me, the way the drums were almost more prominent than the guitars.  Blackie stuck with this sound even on KFD somewhat.   He's been kind of redundant for the past 4 or 5 records (all have great moments though) but CI was a fucking bullseye.  Criminally underrated.

Oh, and Headless rules too.  Serious Wasp is bad ass.  Goofy Wasp is fun too.
