Michel Foucault - The Uses of Pleasure (History of Sexuality Vol 2)
A study of Ancient Greek sexuality, and in particular the relationship to oneself that developed during that period (obviously written as a contrast to the third volume of the series, which focuses on the self-relationship during the Medieval era)

Tucker Max - I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell
This book answers the question:  What if Charles Bukowski was a fratboy in the late 90s?  I am laughing as much at the book as my own college-era memories which are recalled while reading it.

Well, I'm only half through...The book is not particularly graphic.  It has much more to do with the history of what Foucault calls "the hermeneutic of the self," or otherwise how one understands oneself.

I can confirm that they did have some rather different views on how sperm was formed.  And, with regards to masturbation, it would appear that the Greeks were much less concerned with proscribing particular activities and much more concerned with a general sense of balance with regards to sexual activity.  More of a quantitative rather than qualitative concern with sexuality.  Quality was certainly considered and discussed (I would consider this the prescriptive element), but it was quantity that was of central concern (I would consider this the proscriptive element).  It would appear that the prescriptive-quality/proscriptive-quantity relationship was inverted with the ascent of Christianity (Foucault will later observe how the role of confession - fundamentally qualitative - plays a role in transforming the hermeneutic of the self).
