Badlands debut album was released in 1989 and I for one was floored at how well it was put together.  Unlike the hairbands that were popular of the day, this was more like bluesy metal that featured Jake E Lee (formerly of Ozzy) on guitar tearing it up, Ray Gillen (who was briefly in Black Sabbath) on vocals, Greg Chaisson (formerly in Steeler with Ron Keel and Yngwie Malmsteen) on Bass and Eric Singer (former Lita Ford, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper and soon to be in Kiss) on Drums. This was a very classy record of blues based metal.  It just worked with me with the combo of Lee and Gillen.  Anyone else fans of this album?  Thoughts...

Track Listing:

   1. High Wire
   2. Dreams in the Dark
   3. Jade's Song
   4. Winter's Call
   5. Dancing on the Edge
   6. Streets Cry Freedom
   7. Hard Driver
   8. Rumblin' Man
   9. Devil's Stomp
  10. Seasons
  11. Ball & Chain

A band I never got into.  Too poppy for me.

This coming from the guy who still liked Rush in the late 80's and 90's when they were pure poppy lol Badlands puts them to metal shame. devilbang devilbang don;t knock something Jason until you have tried it.

The closest BADLANDS got to Pop was "Dreams In The Dark"...they were a straight up Blues Rock band...great band and a great singer...

You might be right.  Whatever songs I have heard, they were just too radio friendly for me.

Found this one and the second album in the used bin for 2 bucks each.  Listened to each one a few times and both have been collecting dust ever since.  Not bad at all but that kind of blues/rock doesn't do much for me.  I was hoping for more "fire" out of Jake.
