1. Freak
2. Toltec 7 Arrival
3. Starchildren
4. Taking the Queen
5. Darkside of Aquarius
6. Road to Hell
7. Man of Sorrows
8. Accident of Birth
9. The Magician
10. Welcome to the Pit
11. The Ghost of Cain
12. Omega
13. Arc of Space

I don't think it's too early to deem this one a classic, it's been out for over 10 years.  This album blew my mind when it came out.  I thought Bruce had jumped away from metal totally, Maiden was still good but nowhere near as godly as they should have been, metal overall like this was kinda mediocre all over the board.  This and HammerFall's Glory To the Brave ended a long time of metal melaise for me.  It's classic from start to finish.

Two things are always brought up in conjunction with this album, so I'll adreess them right away.

1.  This is the best Maiden album since __________

Disagree.  Iron Maiden is Steve Harris, NOT Bruce Dickinson.  Sure, this album has it's Maiden moments, but that' because a large part of this band was in Maiden.  Other than Road to Hell and the last half of Darkside of Aquarius and maybe Omega, I can't picture any of these tunes being Maiden songs, they rely too much on heavier stanard metal riffs.  Maiden's riffing never sounded like this, except for some of the tunes on Powerslave.

2.  Chemical Wedding is better

Obviously, like point 1, this depends on your preferences.  Chemical Wedding is a good album, but it never did it for me like this one.  The guitars were über muddy and the songs weren't quite there for me like they are on Accident.  I prefer the more straight ahead metal stuff on Accident. I come across a fair number of people who share my point of view, but in most polls Chemical Wedding always wins.

3.  Sorry Protag, I'll try and find something you'll like next time.  lol

This album certainly has it's shining moments (as does "Chemical Wedding" and "Scream For Me Brazil"), but, I just don't find Bruce's solo material to be all that interesting as a whole.

That's why I sold all my Bruce Dickinson CDs a while ago,,,,,

One more thing-

I think Roy Z deserves way more credit for turning around not only Bruce's but Halford's career.  Roy worked with Bruce before Accident, he helped write Balls to Picasso as well.  Comparing the Dickinson and Halford stuff, I just think that Roy did most of the actual tune writing with the singers providing lyrics.  That's one reason why Maiden tunes now that Bruce is back don't sound like this.  Well, that and the fact that Harris has to co-write everything.

I'm 0-2 this week on Albums of the day.   No

I never heard this one.  Dickenson has been the voice on some of my all-time favorite songs but I would never call him one of my favorite vocalists.  In fact, if any member of Maiden put out a solo album, the Dickenson ones would be near the bottom of the buy list (but I never heard Adrian's ASAP stuff either so take that as you will).  I don't NOT like Bruce, I just think he's my least favorite part of Maiden.

I did however buy Chemical Wedding and enjoyed that but I think Roy was more the reason for that than Bruce.  So is the music here similar to CW?

LOVE this album!  Was blown away the first time I heard it.  I couldn;t believe Dickinson was back to doing metal like this!!! While I will agree with you on Point #1 K-dude because it is not fair to compare it to previous Maiden albums (although it does blow away the 2 done with Blaze), it does not hold a candle to Chemical Wedding.  That album is the pinnacle of Bruce Dickinson's solo career in my humble opinion.

It's more traditional than Chemical Wedding, with a good variety of songs.  I think you'd dig it, check it out.

Solid solo release.  Not Maiden quality, but it's very good.

Maiden are now a ghost of what they once were, the latest album stinks and a large part of the reason for that is that bruce no longer has it! Oh hold on, thats exactly what I just said  Roll Eyes  Hope its easier for you to understand now Ive windbagged it...
