Woke up this morning to the neighbor calling that there is a huge water leak in our side yard (we're on a corner lot between a main street and a court).  Turns out the water line broke just past the shut off valve on the street that goes into the house.  That's not the cities responsibility, that's ours.  All $3000.00 worth or responsibility.  Ahh, the joys of home ownership.  dead_n_final

Yea, it sucks but you're right.  Nothing was damaged and three grand isn't anything compared to losing everything.

It's just to replace the pipe.  Digging down 4 or 5 feet and then the same thing further down and replacing the damaged part.  Plumbers are insanely expensive but I'm glad they're there.  I dig a hole for a plant and I'm spent for the day!
