I was very fortunate recently to score a sought-after "deep-sea" blue vinyl press of Alcest's magnificent 2010 album Écailles de Lune.  Along with that order, I was also able to snag a white vinyl copy of their new album, Les Voyages de l'Âme.

Alcest have been labeled several different things - most commonly I read of them being called a mixture of shoegaze (whatever that is) and other forms of metal / extreme metal.  Here's a song from their new album:

I half expected some obscure Norwegian Black Metal...  Wink

I have to admit the song from the video is amazing, I need to discover this band!

Thanks Carl  thumb

Yeah, right on.  I'm glad you guys dig it!

Release, as far as these two albums go, yes.  I'm not very familiar with their earler works, but I'm told their roots are in black metal type stuff (I suppose I could always Youtube and find out for myself).  But yeah, on these two albums the vibe is very similar to the song posted above.  I'm very tempted to post some more ...

Here's another cool track with a few different musical styles for you to enjoy - so hang in there past the blast beats if you can!  devilbang

They rolled through with Enslaved not too long ago.

Too bad there aren't any dates in Nova Scotia  hammerhead

In case there are any other collectors looking for the blue vinyl of Écailles de Lune:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270910974288?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

I do not see this on eBay very often (unless it's found with a high-priced buy-it-now option) and considering it was just released in 2010 it's sure to become a rarity.  Hence my excitement when I was able to find it for a reasonable price at an obscure webshop after months of searching.
