not sure how many of you ProgPower attendees know or remember him, but one of the security guys has just passed away.

From the PP site:

We have just learned that our dear friend "Terminator" passed away last night after a long struggle with cancer. Term was the front door face of ProgPower USA for over a decade and truly added to the persona of the festival. He always had a smile on his face and the personality of a teddybear. He truly was a member of the crew family and we are all heartbroken this morning. I hope he knew that he truly made a difference in our lives. Rest easy, my brother. You are truly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his twin brother, "Renegade" who many of you have also met over the years working along side Term.

here are some pics of him:

With his twin brother, also a security guy at PPUSA:

And finally with our beloved Adrian:

sad, neither is with us anymore

Eric was always super nice to Donna and me, plus the girls.  Always remembered us, talked football with me each year.  He will be truly missed.

Also now posted on the PPUSA board:

I just wanted to update everyone on our recently deceased dear friend, Eric Parker (i.e. Terminator). His funeral will be held this Saturday in Alabama. We sent a floral arrangement to the funeral home and signed it from the ProgPower Family.

Many of you may not know, but Term was a single dad raising a very young daughter with his only true support being his brother, Derrick Parker (i.e. Renegade). Term’s extended bout with colon cancer left him in financial ruin to the point of the bank recently foreclosing on his home after his death. Needless to say, Ren has endured a hell of a lot trying to hold things together.

Term had relatives in Miami that have agreed to take his daughter in. However, it's very hard on Ren to get her to Miami from a financial standpoint. We can make a difference. I am asking the progpower family to make a small donation to a fund that will get her to Miami. Even a gift of just $5 would add up and greatly assist with Ren’s burden.

Center Stage is running the paypal account and will be sending anything they receive to Ren on Saturday. If you would like to make a donation, please send it to:

michelle@rivalentertainment.com

Please mark it as a "gift" so paypal does not take their normal portion from the transaction. Please be aware that Ren will not see any private messages that you include with the transaction.

Thanks all,

Glenn & Jen
Please think about it folks.

ProgPower USA fans are known for their passion, knowledge and fervor for the bands and the music they love. They know everything possible about the history of their favorite artists and follow them religiously throughout their careers.

But have any of you fans ever wondered what it would be like to crawl into the mind of the writer, witness the actual writing process and creation of demos, and then hear the final mix live?

Well, now you can...and it can only happen at this year's ProgPower USA Festival by none other than the Mountain King himself, Jon Oliva!

Oliva, along with Christopher Kinder (Drummer and Producer for Jon Oliva's Pain), will take you on a two hour journey as they discuss the construction process of a new song, record the tracks, and mix that song live...a song which will appear on a future JOP record. Fans will get a once in a lifetime look into the mind of one of the world's most gifted singer/songwriter. Everything surrounding the writing and recording process will be performed live right in front of you.

A question/answer/meet-n-greet will commence immediately at the end of the event!

This rare glimpse at the creative process of the Mountain King will take place at 5pm on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Vinyl located within the Center Stage Complex in Atlanta, GA as part of the ProgPower USA XIII festivities. Tickets will go on sale to ProgPower USA sponsors & Gold Badge Holders on March 17, 2012 via Ticket Alternative. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the public on March 19, 2012. Only 150 tickets will be available for this seated event. Further event information can be located at www.progpowerusa.com.

PLEASE NOTE: NO audio or video recording will be allowed. The music performed at this event is copyrighted and owned by Jon Oliva. Any attempt to record or film this show will result in the immediate removal from the building and a ban for the entire festival weekend with no refund.

Please note that the Wed/Thurs main show announcement is still to come.
