Man, I'm really suffering from cable television withdrawl now. I was over at a buddy's place the other night and I caught a Bulls game on TV ... I really enjoyed it; it almost validated the ridiculous amount of money cable providers are charging for a daily schedule of shitty home-improvement and reality-type programs.
Almost.
Fuck
television.
Anyone else following the NBA season closely? What games/matchups have been good lately?

I love the NBA, but have not been excited about this season. Don't think I have watched a game this season.

Well, because it was cut short, I wasn't interested either. But as a matter of fact, I think it's great that playoffs are closer now. Each regular season game seems to mean a bit more.

It's amazing how David Stern has molded the Clippers into a playoff team.

A few friends and I were actually talking about Blake Griffin the other day. I was saying that in about 2-3 years I don't think he'll be much of a factor. His game is fairly limited outside of his ability to impress with dunks. Most players can't continue down that road after they've been doing it a few seasons.

Interesting Carl. We will just have to wait and see. I think his game is a little more well rounded than what you have described.

You're probably right MK, and to be quite honest, most of what I know of Griffin comes from Sports Center and that's not saying much considering Canadian sports center (on TSN) very reluctantly shows NBA highlights. Sometimes I think they should just call that show Hockey Center.

At the beginning of the season, I was telling people that the Lakers would sign once Kobe retires.
That's what I saw in my crystal ball.

Anyone care to comment about this 'Lin' kid who was sleeping on his brother's couch 10 days and now is the talk of the town in NYC...Not Eli Manning.

I got a call from a friend last night about him actually. He was watching the Raptors game and was upset that there were my NY fans at the ACC than Toronto fans, heh ...
I say, that's what's so great about The Raptors - they have great seat prices so when your team rolls through town it won't cost you an arm and a leg to go courtside!
Hah, I actually like the Raptors. Even though they're far from the best as far as standing go, they always seem to try their hardest which makes for some good entertainment.

Greg Oden has surgery yet again!
You just have to wonder if it's worth it. If he comes back, then it will truly be a miracle.
