I'll be honest - I had never heard of "Black Friday" until this week.  Is it a new occurance?

it's the American equivalent of Boxing day,an excuse for people to go batshit crazy in stores.

Biggest difference though is Boxing day is post Xmas & Black Friday is pre Xmas.

Funny though but I used to think Boxing day celebrated the sport of pugilism.
