NFL 2011 Thread

Rather than go talk elsewhere. I wanted to get all my frustrations out here. My chance to flame out, but to get my thoughts down electronically.
I've been a Charger fan for quite a long time. Longer than some of you have been alive. I have followed this team for far too long for such futile results. Yet, I keep coming back for more.
Yes, I remember Winslow practically winning the game by himself in the 41-38 win over Miami in the Orange Bowl in early 1982 (I think). I was living in San Diego at the time but was visiting my grandmother's house in Orange COunty for that weekend. I remember watching it over there. Some call it the greatest NFL playoff game ever played. Then, the team had to go to mother fucking Cincinnati, on a day that was recorded at 59 degrees below zero. Anarctica has warmer days than that for God's sake. The coldest game ever played. And it just fucked this franchise's chances on whatever glory it had. I remember that game too. I remember the icicles hanging from Fouts' beard. A 27-7 loss to Ken Anderson's Bengals. Stories of players with frostbite. It was just an ugly result. That Charger team was better than that Bengal team. I guess I'm making the weather an excuse. So be it.
Last night's loss didn't even piss the fuck out of me. I am totally numb to the effects of this team losing anymore. It doesn't even record mentally anymore. In the back of mind, I KNEW they were going to lose, I was just trying to figure out
how
.
That 1982 Charger team was the team that needed to win the Super Bowl for the city of San Diego. I'm bringing something up from 30 years ago.
That's fucking pathetic. But, it's Charger history.
As long as THEY are called the 'San Diego' Chargers, they will never win. The decisions over the last 4 years have been horrible. I know I'm not the GM, but the decisions are glaring to us that follow this futile team.
Michael Turner and Darren Sproles were let go. LaDanian stayed...for a while.
Brees went on to win a Super Bowl.
Rex Ryan has beaten Norv Turner twice in the playoffs.
The wrong players have been kept. I believe the GM is not very good. I believe the head coach has no business being a head coach.
I love the city of San Diego. But, this team is flat out cursed. It's really the Cubs of the NFL. Except the Cubs have done it for a 100 years. The Chargers have done it for 50.
Philip Rivers has hit his peak. And it just isn't good enough. He has had plenty of time to improve. Time has ran out on him. Time has ran out on this franchise.
I'm now off to go watch and see how my LA Kings will flame out in the 2011-2012 NHL season. They're good. But, that's about it too.
And don't even talk about my hapless Triple-A Padres.

I've watched the Skins since the 60s & even though they may have had worse seasons record wise this is the worst team I've ever seen them allow to wear the burgundy & gold. Two thirds of the team have obviously given up & play accordingly. How you can even consider going into a season w/o a viable quarterback to begin with is an insult to the team & it's fans.
