I've been selling my Kings season seats on Craigslist for 7 years now.  I just can't go to all 41 games.  Not with soccer and hockey practices Monday Thru Thursday.  It's just too much.

Well, 2 weeks ago a guy bought SIX games from me.  My best single transaction ever on Craigslist.  $810 worth of games.  He just called my cell today and left a message that he can't make the game on November 12th, which is a Saturday game.  He wants to mail that game back to me for another Saturday game.  I don't want to take that game back because I'm out of town for that weekend also.  I was happy to sell that game.  The rest of the Saturday games that I have now are too high caliber to make an even swap.

I wanted to get everyone's opinion.  He bought 6 games.  He just went to the 1-0 Kings win over Dallas last week and he loved it.  I want the guy to be satisfied, but I really don't want to bail him out for his goof up.  He said it's his wife's birthday that weekend and he's out of town.  I want the guy to be satisfied, and he got them at my price.  Face value for those six games are $167 * 6 = $1002.

What do you guys and gals think?

He wants Saturday of course, but I would be willing to trade him for a Monday game.

Well, here's what I might consider:

Cash refund.  You're still up, the guy knows who to go to next time he wants tickets, and you might still be able to sell that ticket.

You'll be in the right regardless of what you decide.  It was his error.

It was definitely his error and is now his problem, as he bought tickets and typically there are no refunds, period.

However.

This guy spent a ton of money with you, and might just do so again at some point.  If you take them back for cash (if you don't think it's even to swap them, don't), he'll see that you're being helpful and will be even more likely to purchase more off you.

Yes Pat, he sent me $810 to Paypal.  He paid in full up front.  I was amazed.

I'm thinking to trade him the game for a weekday game of my choice.  He probably won't go for that.

Now, I pay about $130 a game (I have 2 tickets).  Face value are $83.50 each or $167/game.

What do you think about a partial refund?  He paid $135/game.  What if I offer $110 or something like that?  Is that being a cheap ass?

Do you think you could resell those tickets if you took them back?  If so, I'd give the guy a full refund.  Again, you're breeding good faith in a guy who's spent a lot of money and might spend a lot more money in the future.

Do I think I could resell them?  Yes.
At the price he paid?  No.  It's the Wild.  lol

OK, I will just have him send them back.
