Ya know, I don't really mind blast beats in grindcore.  It's a signature of the scene.  But in death metal, that's where it's destroyed the scene for me.  Old school death metal, man, that was fucking awesome and had zero blast beats for the first few years.   And I actually dig 'em as accents in metal but when it's the whole song..... then yea, fuck them.
