SWORD - Metalized (1986)

01. F.T.W.
02. Children Of Heaven
03. Stoned Again
04. Dare To Spit
05. Outta Control
06. The End Of The Night
07. Runaway
08. Where To Hide
09. Stuck In Rock
10. Evil Spell

This is a pure classic of molten canadian Heavy Metal in it's purest form. there's a certain timeless quality to the songs and the production that are quite rare for a debut album. But it's not that surprising since prior to releasing Metalized, Sword were already a legendary act with their impressive live show touring the club circuit throughout Quebec. The whole album is full of mesmerizing guitar work and fist pumping metal anthems, but it's truly Rick Hughes' haunting vocal performance that makes this a must have. Here's a band that should have made it to the big leagues.
Be prepared to pay quite a few bucks on ebay for this one...  Cool

This one I missed out on back in the day. I downloaded it a few years ago to check it out and it didn't do anything for me. Nothing wrong with it, naybe a little tame compared to much of what was out at the time though.

I bought it two years ago after it came up on the other board.  Great album start to finish.  My only fault with it is that it's straight traditional metal and doesn't stand out as well from many of my other CD's.  I end up pulling out something like Metal Church "The Dark" instead.  Very cool album though.  I'll have to bust it out here.

This is one of those albums I remember having in my hands more than once back in the 80's, but with the huge amount of available albums at even the chain stores, I always passed.

Zeke's Neighbor has it and loves it and I'm positive has played it for me while we've been grilling, but I can't recall anything from it.

I'll have to borrow it....

Considering the great taste in metal represented at this board, pretty good. :m:
