I went with thrash, traditional and progressive but I'm usually all over the place with my listening habits.

One thing is for certain though, unless its Napalm Death or a very small sampling of other bands, blast beats are not in there.  To me there is nothing "heavy" about 'em.  Its too fast to do anything to.  Maybe you can convulse to it but who wants to do that?  lol

Thrash will always be in my top 3, and I also included black and traditional.

Release-- what about the blasting on the first Brutal Truth album?

Never really got into those guys for some reason. Honestly, it took Dimmu's DCA to finally get me to stop turning off the stereo the second the blasting started.  Napalm Death can get away with it because they have that punk background (as do Brutal Truth) but 90% of the time, blasting starts, I go away.  There are a few exceptions but much like power metal, once the happy starts, I've got better places to be.  lol

Thrash is my All time #1, Traditional has to be #2 with bands like Maiden, Priest, DIO and Ozzy who fall into that category...#3 is kind of a toss up, I went with Power metal, but it could be Death, Melodic Death, NWOBHM as well.

Thrash, traditional and black metal, in that order.

I've never considered NWOBHM a genre, so much as a MOVEMENT. There were loads of bands from around the world that sounded like they could have been from England (Witchkiller, Ostrogoth, Vortex, Oz, Warlord, too many to list) but were from thousands of miles away. All of it was traditional metal anyway, IMO.

I voted Trad, Power and Thrash.

I don't think NWOBHM is really a style, moreso a movement.

I pretty much like all but 99% of tech death, grindcore and the really grimm bm stuff.

I voted Death, Black and Thrash, but I, to some extent, enjoy all those genres!
