My first was KISS on its Lick It Up tour with Accept opening (1983). Boy, do I wish I could relive that night, seeing as how I am now such a huge fan of Accept. The group was touring for Balls to the Wall

I am 38 and am so glad to have been around to witness almost the entire history of hard rock, heavy rock and heavy metal. My brother is 10 years my senior and was into heavy music during his teens, so I was listening to the 70s stuff ... in the 70s (ha, ha). I started to buy my own albums in 1982, when I was 12.

I am jealous of the dude who saw Ratt in the 80s. And Damn Yankees in its prime would be a killer show, too.

If you want to get technical, my first concert I believe was Olivia Newton Johnwhen I was about 7 back in 1977.  I apparently had a crush on her according to my mom.

My first metal gig was Leatherwolf and Stryper at Universal Amphiteater back in early 1986.  Leatherwolf kicked ass.

I saw them thrice in the 80's; twice in 1985 and again in 1987 (once as an opener and twice as a headliner)....

Saw them open for Maiden, then a couple months later saw them headline with Bon Jovi opening, then saw them headline when Poison was supposed to open but they cancelled and a Minneapolis band called "Dare Force" opened...

First concert I ever went to was David Bowie at a packed exhibition stadium in Toronto.  My older cousin had an extra ticket and took me.  It was 25 years ago - September 1983.

First concert I ever went to see because I wanted to was Ozzy Osbourne in April 1984 at Maple Leaf Gardens.  Ratt opened, and they were still unknown... thus didn't get much response.

They still came out to do an encore.  It was annoying.
