Ok, not so much that last part, BUT....the outside of my condo has become home to about a million billion spiders. They hang out all over the wall near the light fixtures, near the doorways...hell, they even rock out near our cars.

Clearly many of them have been hunting all summer because they're frigging HUGE. Like....mini tarantula huge, with bodies larger than a quarter...not including legs. It's really something!

Anyways, it makes for an interesting exit from the building every pre-dawn morning. Between walking out the door and ducking to make sure you don't drag through a web and carry it's owner on your shoulders, to walking between the cars and through a single line of silk that sticks to you like barbed wire, you always feel like you MIGHT have a spider on you haha!

Apparently they're powerwashing the building next week, so I guess it'll be a spider holocaust. As much as I think spiders are way cool and don't want 'em to kick the bucket, it won't be as cool once the weather gets more fall-like and they all scatter and seek refuge in our warm homes. As it is, 3 of the mammoth sons a bitches made it into my place this week.  Hmmm....I think I'll take some pics before the spidercaust happens!

we had a big one in our living room the other day.  the cat was sort of pawing at it...I thought it was fuzz until i got a closer look.

Spiders rule.

Buuuuut the spidercaust happened the other day. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a pic prior to it happening - the spiders weren't out due to all the rain we had.  Poor bastards, only one large one survived and several new, little ones.
