K-dude, I can guarantee you that the new Accept will be better than the new Maiden...

Maybe. Can't wait to hear it. I've never been HUGE on Accept so I'm curious.
Still finally getting my head around these new Maiden songs, lots of good stuff on here.

Review's up!
More accurately I'd rate the album a 3.5 out of 5, but I prefer the out-of-five grading system over the out-of-ten though, and so the 4 out of 5 suits me just fine.

We're just following the iTunes and Amazon rating standard, I personally find the out of 10 scale and .5 ratings a bit tedious if not redundant...
Great review Carl

After a full week with this I think the 4 out of 5 is fair. It's still growing on me. I'm still taken aback at how lighter it is compared to the last few. On the other hand, I think the songs are better. It really has the Somewhere in Time/Seventh Son vibe all over here, especially on the more epic second half.
Not sure if it will top AMOLAD (although there are a lot of things that bugged me about that album that are thankfully fixed this time), but I do enjoy it more than DOD (too uneven) and BNW (never cared for).

There are numerous spots on the album I felt that 7th Son vibe as well. And you're right - while the songs are collectively lighter, I'm more impressed with the writing on this one than I have been over the past few years.
It's not a perfect album by any means, but it's getting better with every listen (listening to it right now actually).

I like it. Maiden is a Prog Rock band now, IMO. I like Prog, I like Maiden, so it's a win-win for me.

To say the least, the dude that did the review for Teeth Of The Divine doesn't seem to share your view.
It has grown on me in the last week.
Some great Maiden moments on the album, but as a whole it's a challenge to get through in one listening session, but so was AMOLAD.

After two weeks I don't think it's
quite
as good as AMOLAD is. But I'm enjoying it a lot more than Brave New World and Dance of Death. And it's still growing on me. Good stuff.
