Most people side with the players...RIGHT NOW, but if we start losing games, then that will change...

Like I said, greed. I totally understand the players wanting a part of that because it's those guys that earn everyone the money. But isn't it a little greedy, especially in this economy? With all the regular Joes that work in stadiums and everyone else involved with the sport, that's a lot of people that would be affected by this. And the owners wanting a longer season... of course they do, it's more money for them..... at the expense of the players health. If I had to choose (from an obviously clueless position) I'd have to side with the players on this one. But I still think they're both out of line considering the economic climate we're in.
Well the owners get the revenue from tix sales for games, parking plus some of the concession money & team merchandise. The funny thing is that the 18 game season is kind of hypocritical cause last season was all about protecting the players from serious injury & now they want to add 2 more games to give the players more of an opportunity for injury.
The reason that the players can agree with the owners on the rookie salary cap is that veterans don't want a rookie coming in & making more money than veteran players at the same positions & the owners don't want to payout a lot of money only to have the rookie become a bust.

Well, they gotta get rid of this 4 pre-season games bullshit. When your ratio of pre-season to regular season games is 1 to 4, that's just ripping off the fans.
At that ratio, can you imagine the NBA and NHL having
TWENTY
pre-season games? BS.
Can you imagine MLB having 40 exhibition games? I think 30 is too much as it is.

No way these guys are dumb enough to have a strike impact the season. Especially in the current economic climate. Nobody wants to see millionaires fighting with millionaires. They'll get something done. And the Redskins will still suck.

What I heard was proposed is to only have 2 preseason games but increase the number of scrimmages between teams that are in close proximity to each other. For instance the Redskins may play Ravens, Steelers, Titans or Panthers.

what I meant was since they were eliminating the 4 preseason games, what amount of games were they going too.

Drop the pre-season schedule down to 2 and let's move on.

If it comes down to it, will the public accept 'replacement' players?

I will since the Redskins do well during/after strike seasons.
But, no, not really.

Another asterisk beside our next Super Bowl victory!
