1979's Lovedrive release by the Scorpions saw Uli Jon Roth exit and Matthias Jabs enter plus a return of Michael Schenker return for 3 songs. I picked this album, because it (to me) ushered in the modern age of the Scorpions sound. Gone is the sweeping, soulful, Flamenco Roth style guitar playing enter some blistering fast metal guitarwork from both Matthias and Michael. Song after song on this album is a classic, IMO. Now don;t get me wrong, this is FAR from the band's best work...but a great introduction to what was to come with seminal Blackout in a few years. What are your thoughts....

I definitely consider this a classic and is right up there with my favorites from the band.  It's too bad the band got big in the 80's and so many people listening to metal now never gave them a chance.  This has always been one of the best bands in metal IMO.

Great album, I pretty much dig everything the Scorps did all the way to Blackout.
Tokyo Tapes is the one I listen to the most these days, early Scorps were simply lethal live!  devilbang
