Still,,,,,on a Monday night,,,,,AAAGHHH!!!
most of the shows I go to are during the week
I've certainly been to some,,,,,but I tend to avoid them that early in the week,,,,,
honestly, what's the difference between Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or a THursday? THey are all during the workweek?
The earlier in the week, the more days of being tired at work,,,,,I don't "catch up" on sleep until the following weekend,,,,,
Doesn;t matter to me....I am a TRUE WARRIOR OF METAL!!
It matter to me if it's somebody that turns out to suck in concert,,,,,hence my original questions,,,,,

Well, how familiar are you with their material? If the sound is off...... then it's going to be a big blur and you'll be disappointed. I know I've seen plenty of bands that I thought sounded like shit because i wasn't familiar with their songs but my friends thought they sounded great (who were big fans). It's always a gamble with shows like that.

Is the venue big enough that it won't sell out? I'd see how you feel that day then and just get a ticket at the door. If you have a million things to do at work the next day, you're not eating the ticket and forcing yourself to go.

I've seen Dimmu 4 times and the only time they didn't sound as HMB describes (aka, crappy) was at Wacken last year. The two shows at Jaxx (including one where Barker was sick so they played a whopping 30 minutes) and the one at the 9:30 Club weren't nearly as good.
And yeah since Release touched on it earlier, Jaxx is a total dump. Pretty much every venue I've been to anywhere else is nicer than that place. The only reason I go there is because it's close and in a safe neighborhood. I;ll be going to Rams Head in Baltimore for the first time in 2 weeks to see Motörhead, then a few days later to see Gamma Ray and Helloween and man does that place look nice!

Tried to see them once. Paid for my ticket, went in, they played a couple of songs then said "Sorry our drummer is sick" and that was it.

Yep, Jaxx 2002. The day of the US-Canada Gold medal game, I'll never forget it. The band totally split and left after that too, didn't hang around or anything. I was kinda pissed.
