Yeah, Braves fans are totally living in the past.  They've got absolutely nothing to look forward to, given that all they've got is a lineup where every starter is - health permitting - going to hit at least 13-15 home runs, an exceptionally deep bullpen and possibly the best starting rotation in baseball 1-5 (the only real competition in that category being the Red Sox).  Oh yeah, and the best hitting prospect to come along at least since A-Rod and probably since Junior.

I was joking around with Venom, not making a blanket statement about Braves fans in general.  Sheesh.

This guy is a bad ass!

14 Strikeouts in 7 innings in his Major League debut.  What an amazing game!

He lived up to the hype though.  That crowd was electric all night.  It was like a world series game, and then he goes out and pitches like Cy Young.  It totally lived up to all the hype and that NEVER happens.  But it did, for my team.  It's fuckin' awesome.  Add in the fact that the other four stars had huge games (Zimmerman, Dunn, Willingham and Rodriguez) and it was just magical.  That's the second game in Nats history I have personally watched that made me feel like a kid again.  The other being the opening night for Nationals Park when Zim hit a walk off homer.  I think tonight's game pushed baseball in D.C. to a new level.  Washington is slowly becoming a baseball town.

Anyway....fucking psyched.  A great night to be a Nats fan.  Oh shit there's a bonus.....we got Bryce Harper in the draft yesterday!

Let's go Nats!!!

I have to say it was the first time I watched any part of a Nats game & he was impressive. He was still throwing 103mph fast balls in the 7th & has a sinker that is really a sinker. I don't remember seeing anyone who can make the ball drop like that.

Exactly.  He has pitches that are as good as ANY pitcher in baseball already.  I have never seen such speed with movement.  He is every bit as dominant and once in a generation as he was hyped to be.

The hype drew me in but after he left the game I turned it off. So did they hold the lead?  Up To Something

Dude, I think he did well, but it was against the Pirates.  He probably faced better batters in Triple A.

lol Agreed, certainly not the best batting lineup in MLB. One of them hit a home run off him though & for just a while that took a lot of steam out of the crowd. I hope they don't expect him to play shutdown ball everytime he's on the mound.

Still, 101 MPH pitches in like the 6th inning is pretty incredible.  Some of those pitches were INSANE.

His brush back pitches are pretty impressive too. Some of those batters would watch the ball go by them in unexpected directions & just shake their heads like WTF!  lol

I agree with you, but the Nats could not have handpicked a better team for his debut.
