Classic Album of the Day 9/22/08: Onslaught-The Force

One of my very favorite thrash albums of all time and one I expect to fall on mostly deaf ears here. Onslaught is a British thrash band from the 80's. The Force came out in 1986 on Under One Flag label following their debut 1985's Power From Hell which was punker in nature (ANP likes it better). You did not have too many punishing thrash bands from England that we Americans heard about and Onslaught was one of the best, IMO. Seemed like every album, their sound changed some what due to a new lead singer. If you have not checked out this album, I HIGHLY recommend it.
Track Listing:
1. Let There Be Death
2. Metal Forces
3. Fight With The Beast
4. Demoniac
5. Flame Of The Antichrist
6. Contract In Blood
7. Thrash Till The Death

I already stated you would say that!
I was glad that the Get Thrashed dvd mentioned this band at least, they deserved it.

Onslaught was mentioned in the Bonus section talking about the British thrash bands. So what was the 1st thing that was mentioned that you swear was not on your copy of the dvd?
MOSH, being a huge thrash fan, how could you not have heard this album??

I bought this when it came out but I sold it a few months later. Hmmmm, I can't even remember what I didn't like about it.

That explains it,,,,,I haven't watched any of the bonus material yet,,,,,
The other item mentioned is the Death Angel touring with Metallica anecdote,,,,,I have no idea what that's about.

The only Onslaught album I've ever heard is the one they released last year that sounded a lot like newer Exodus.

Killing Peace was my #1 album of last year and has the singer from The Force on it. Please don;t insult it but comparing it to the newer Exodus with Rob Dukes....

I heard 2 or 3 songs from the new Onslaught,,,,,I can definitly see why it reminds you of newer Exodus, except for the vocals,,,,,

definitely,,,,,at least on CD,,,,,Rob is much better live than on CD so thinks may be much more comparable in a live setting,,,,,
