You liked that Stryper that much?
I thought it was OK...but it didn't stick too hard for me.

I like Reborn but, aside from 3-4 songs that had an older feel, Murder By Pride left me really disappointed.

Chinese Democracy
Sonic Boom
Anomaly
Endgame
World Painted Blood
Black Gives Way to Blue
Um yeah. I have totally missed basically everything else new this year. Hopefully next year I'll be able to get back to my old metal ways.
I just realized Chinese Democracy came out last year, but whatever. I listened to it so much this year that it's a 2009 album to me.
Also, I'm pissed that I still haven't heard the new W.A.S.P.

Don't know what to tell ya...I'm as suprised as you!
Seriously it doesn't get old for me. That album has gotten way more mileage than anything else I bought this year...
And believe me, I liked older Stryper too. Never loved them though...

I feel the exact opposite. I found "Reborn" to modern for my tastes, but "Murder by Pride" has been my biggest surprise of the year

I totally forgot about Crystal Viper until today!
AHAB - The Divinity of Oceans is my number one album this year, the rest I'm still trying to get in order.

I'd like to hear that Crystal Viper. I'd planned on getting it way back in the spring but couldn't find it. Maybe some day but not before year's end.
The Ahab is in the same position except I will own that guaranteed. Doom death is one of my favorite genres.

Here's my top 2009 list, not exactly in order. The top five are solidly placed I think, and the remaining ten spots are more interchangeable.
1. Mastodon- Crack The Skye

4. Paradise Lost- Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us
5. Voivod- Infini
6. Megadeth- Endgame
7. Lamb Of God- Wrath
8. God Forbid- Earthsblood
9. These Are They- Who Linger
10. My Dying Bride- For Lies I Sire
11. KISS- Sonic Boom
12. Devin Townsend- Ki
13. Amesouers- S/T
14. Katatonia- Night Is The New Day
15. Amorphis- Skyforger
