This is funny, after all these years Rush has finally clicked for me & by that I mean the vocals since I always liked the music. I think it comes from watching Beyond the Lighted Stage & last night I watched The Boys In Brazil concert film. Anyway I just ordered 5 of their albums, 2112, A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves & Moving Pictures. I found them for $7 each & I'll be picking up more in the future.

Old Man's Child's In Defiance of Existence is an incredible album.

And Nick Barker's drumming on it is EASILY some of the best stuff he's ever done.  I really wish he'd get himself into another extreme metal band....preferably one that doesn't have a history of "revolving door'ing" it's members.

The order was shipped Monday via Priority mail so I should be getting it very soon. All the albums I ordered are the remasters & cost $6.27 each. I would have ordered Signals at the time but the site was out of stock of that but I'll pick it up next cause it has my favorite song by them on it, Subdivisions.

You should enjoy them - they're "good" remasters. Not too hot, and really move the CDs back to sounding like the albums, which sounded quite good in their own right - from "A Farewell to Kings" onward especially.

I really did not like Hypocrisy's Catch 22 when it first came out. I'm listening to the 2008 version now and while some of the songs are still fucking gay (A Public Puppet, Turn the Page and Don't Judge Me immediately come to mind as the Slipknot influence is glaring and nauseating) others are much better than I remember (On the Edge of Madness, Uncontrolled, Destroyed). Halfway through it now but am kind of surprised that I like anything on it.

I love that album.  I can see why it get's shit on by some, but I think it's better than most people give it credit for.  Especially the '08 version...as you said.

Well I think we've all had a few years (and subsequently way better Hypocrisy albums) for the shock to wear off. I like it more than I remember. I think half of it is actually really good while the other half is total crap. But that's a big improvement from previously where I thought all of it was crap. lol

Version 2.0's closer, Nowhere to Run is really cool, but I'll take the original over the 2008 version.  The new production, vocals etc. in not unlike masking an odour with air-freshener.

I must admitt though, when I last saw them I went pretty haywire when they played Destroyed - a favorite Hyp. tune of mine.

Anyone pick up the new Megadeth DVD?  I'm curious if the vocal overdubbing is as blatantly obvious throughout the whole thing as it sounds on the amazon samples.

Haha, I figured as much.  I'll still probably get the DVD at some point.  But when I saw them earlier this year Dave did nothing but mumble cat noises for most of that album, it was awful.

Musically it ruled though.  devilbang
