This new Accept is, uhhh, OK.  But I agree with the dude who reviewed it for Decibel when he described it as sounding like "they put all the traditional Accept bits in some sort of computer program and it chucked out this album".  It's not bad by any means, but there's no way I'm going back to this after the sheen wears off in like 2 weeks.

And fuck me EVERYTHING Sneap works on sound the same.  This sounds pretty much just like the Exodus and Megadeth albums + some lame Euro power metalisms thrown in there for some reason.

Then again to be fair I've never been the biggest Accept fan anyway.

I also realize I just described how most folks view every Maiden album since 1988 but I don't give a shit about that.

You recommended that I do my pre-order from them but the last couple of times I'd ordered from them were pretty bad experiences when it came to prompt delivery. Nice to see that they've improved. Good for you, bad for me!

I'm not a huge Accept fan either. In fact I think I only own Restless & Wild & Balls to the Wall. I used to have Metal Heart & Russian Roulette but couldn't stand them & sold them off. I ordered the new album out of curiousity about the new vocalist.

I'm not hating.  I'm simply saying it's an OK record that I'll probably never listen to once it hits October.  That's all.

Finally checking out the new Cradle of Filth single.
3 minutes in but I don't hear awesome riffs like I did on Godspeed...

Haven't heard the new single (waiting to hear the whole album), but speaking of Godspeed...

I finally got up to speed ( ) and picked up that album a month or so ago.  It's OK.  Certainly a step up from Damnation and presumably Thornography (haven't heard that one yet), but I didn't find it overly memorable.  

And there's my usual Andy Sneap gripes....of course.

In other news...

Hank III ruled so fucking hard Saturday night.  Even better than the first time I saw him.  He also managed to make big time fans out of 2 friends who were either NOT into that stuff at ALL, or barely a fan to begin with.  He fuckin' BROUGHT IT for nearly 3 hours straight (country set, hellbilly set, Assjack set).  And all for $20.

As usual, Hank's choice of music prior to hitting the stage was awesome:
- random old timey country song
- Pantera
- David Alan Coe
- Immortal (...and not even newer Immortal - the first song from Battles in the North! )
- more random old timey country

I picked up the Rust in Peace DVD this weekend and it's pretty sweet. 

I guarantee though that about 95% of those vocals are not in any way "live".  At least not from that show.
