This is for Metal_King!!
Canada's favorite sons...RUSH! I am sure everyone has a different favorite album by the metal masters Rush, mine is 1981's Moving Pictures. I feel in love with Tom Sawyer from the first time I heard it. I can remember moving to Asheville, NC and hearing this on some kid's boombox at school. I immediately went over and asked who he was playing. I went out and bought the cassette tape and the rest is history. I wore out that first side of the cassette tape my 8th grade year. My four favorite songs are easily: Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Red Barchetta and YYZ. I am sure this Classic Album will illicit more chatter than the 2 previous days, so go for it guys.
Track Listing:
1. Tom Sawyer
2. Red Barchetta
3. YYZ
4. Limelight
5. The Camera Eye
6. Witch Hunt (Part III of Fear)
7. Vital Signs

I'm not sure if I just overplayed this album when I was younger or what it is but this is one of the last Rush albums I grab when I need a Rush fix. Not sure why either. They're all great songs but I've heard the big ones so many times on live albums and such that I skip them now. Witch Hunt, Vital Signs and sometimes Red Barchetta and Limelight are the only ones I listen to off that album these days. Always hated YYZ for some reason...... especially off the live albums when the crowd chants "Yea" in between the breaks. However, that song on Rush in Rio was pretty amazing with the whole crowd singing this song... yes,
singing
the instrumental! All in all, great album but way down on my favorites list from this band.

"Geez, tough crowd I tell ya!" To quote Rodney Dangerfield. Maybe Mosh, Release, K-dude, Hellboy or M_K can do these some days too....

IMO, the greatest band of all time. Maiden is a distant second followed by Priest, AC/DC, Motorhead, U2......

The song Xanadu off A Farewell To Kings - Pure Brilliance
Add to that the fact that it was recorded in
one take
makes it even
more
amazing.

Good album, but not my favorite. I'd be fine never hearing Tom Sawyer again, it's their Enter Sandman or Run to the Hills it seems.
