Oceans of Sadness have now leapfrogged ahead of Paradox as the #2 band I want to see at the show...

The rankings are now:

1) TYR

2) Oceans of Sadness
3) Paradox

4) the rest

Pat, can you describe OoS?

I read this comparison on the PP board, and I think it's fairly good:  Amorphis meets Riverside
The new album has the lead singer of DSO co-singing lead on one song, and also has an appearance by Johan Liiva which ads a bit of aggression.  But each song brings a little different atmosphere to the proverbial table-- some faint prog noodling, and lots of double bass with both clean/slightly gruff vocals-- it's kind of a good mix as they really aren't heavy into one style or the other-- so there are just traces of various genres throughout.

Dunno, does that make sense?

I'm intrigued.  nana

As long as it's not 100% puke vocals, I might be into it.  beerbang
