is a special history of Heavy Metal Issue.

They do so by focusing on a band instead of doing a broader history. Some of the bands they have chosen to focus on are interesting picks. For the late 60’s early and early 70’s they focus on Blue Cheer. The band they focused on for the for the middle to late 70’s  is the Godz. I assume some of these choices are driven by the fact that they have covered Black Sabbath and Judas Priest repeatedly.

The strangest article is on the Sister of Mercy and their influence on the Goth scene.

There is also a list per decade of the songs that forged metal and other side bar articles. I am pretty sure that some of the songs selected would be pretty controversial.

Anyway I thought some of you guys might be interested.

Sounds like they decided to progress from the one I have rather than rehash it...I'll have to grab it when I see it at B&N...they have the Prog issue in there now...

My mother in law hopefully has picked up the prog issue for me.

Could you post the number of the prior CR heavy metal special if you have it handy. I might try to pick it up on Ebay.
