Don't care for that packaging at all. It seems pretty fragile.

Yeah, he really is.  BUT, if they had a good to great singer in there they'd probably end up sounding like the 1 billion prog bands that rip off DT all the time.  So, in a weird way, he's integral to their sound even though he sounds like a total pansy.

I listened to this during the week end. It's a pretty solid effort. I already like this more then Systematic Chaos.

I originally gave this a couple of spins and while I enjoyed it  I put it aside. For some reason I was more into a rock and doom phase this summer which was a huge contrast with the brilliant weather we had.

I pulled this back out last week and it’s been on constant rotation along with the new Redemption, Gates Of Slumber and Rush’s Snakes and Arrows. I think this may be my favorite DT since Metropolis pt 2 Scenes from A Memory.

It's mine.  Been awhile since they wrote an absolute classic of a song too.  The Count of Tuscany is it for me.

I love the album musically but the lyrics on some of the songs are killing me.  I know Labrie doesn't write them, and to be honest I don't know how he sings some of them.
And my .02 on Labrie - I have always liked his vocals, although he isn't always consistent live.  Then again, he is the singer and I imagine it is more physically difficult to sing such crazy vocal lines when one is ill or not feeling 100%.

Yeah, the lyrics are the worst they've ever been.  The Count of Tuscany is particularly stupid as they don't paint a good picture and subsequently, make you wonder what the big deal is.  You can see how much that factored into my opinion on the song as a whole though.  It's too good to let that trip the album up.

I've never, ever understood how people think James LaBrie is a bad singer...great range, amazing control, good melodies and delivery...I don't think he's a weak link at all...
