Classic album of the Day 9/11/08: Ozzy Osbourne-Diary of a Madman

[Venom]

I know many prefer this album to the debut, Blizzard of Ozz. While I love this album and think it is a classic, I am not totally in that camp. Mostly probably because of my love for the songs Crazy Train and I Don;t Know. BUT, how can you go wrong starting off with Over The Mountain.  Randy is just blistering the guitar all over the place with this track.  Flying High Again continues the guitar assault by Randy which pretty much does not let up on this album to the closing track, which happens to be the title track as well, Diary of a Madman is over. Too bad we will never know what Randy would have done after this album since he was tragically killed in an airplane crash in 1982.  Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982) Rest In Peace Randy!

   My favorite Ozzy solo album.  Diary of a Madman is such a great song.
